Who We Are

Nicholas Ratut is founder and owner of NR Global Beauty. Nicholas leads the team of experts who work with clients depending on each specific project. Nicholas’s worldwide experience spans over thirty years in the beauty industry covering fragrance, skincare, color cosmetics, hair and body care. 

Born and educated in England, having lived and worked in Paris for twenty years and subsequently New York for the past twenty years, Nicholas has a multi-cultural background and international approach  and has contributed to significant top and bottom line growth for global beauty organizations by establishing profitable market share in over eighty countries.

The ability to identify future trends and recognize new areas of growth in the markets has made Nicholas a highly sought-after resource in the industry. His proven track record in producing results has translated into new streams of revenues for organizations. 

His unique network of relationships and reputation as an expert in the global beauty sector is a rare and valuable asset. 

Nicholas started in the beauty industry in Paris launching the new LACOSTE fragrance brand in Europe and in global Duty Free markets. LACOSTE quickly became one of the leading men’s fragrance lines in Europe and was later acquired by Procter and Gamble as a market leader in that segment. 

He subsequently joined the Paris-based team that created and distributed the ESCADA Beauté brand. ESCADA pioneered the concept of the limited edition summer fragrance which today has been adopted by most all of the large brands.

Nicholas then moved to New York to head up the Americas subsidiary of ESCADA Beauté called AdiPar and quickly acquired the US distribution rights for BURBERRY, ANNICK GOUTAL, VAN CLEEF & ARPELS and LALIQUE so that five years later AdiPar became the leading supplier of fragrances to the most prestigious department stores in the USA namely Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nordstrom. 

Six years after moving to New York, Nicholas joined the Americas Group of the Japanese beauty giant SHISEIDO. He became President of the division that acquired new brand and licenses, one of which today is the hugely successful JOHN VARVATOS brand which won several Fragrance Foundation, CEW and other industry awards. 

Nicholas identified a growing need by beauty companies, both large and small, for expertise in finding profitable distribution solutions both in the US and internationally. To meet this demand, he started NR Global Beauty in 2011.

Born in London, educated in the UK and Austria, bilingual in French and English with a truly multi-cultural background and approach, Nicholas lives in Manhattan, New York with his wife, Kristina Kossi, a professional sculptor and jazz club owner. He is a previous Board Member of the American Fragrance Foundation as well as the TFWA which runs the annual luxury products trade show in Cannes. He is a past speaker at the HBA and TFWA conferences. 

In addition to a passion for travel whether for business or pleasure and interacting with multiple nationalities, Nicholas devotes much of his spare time to helping people living with and recovering from mental illness by serving as the Vice Chair of Clubhouse International a global non-profit organization.
